DWC’s mission is to provide permanent supportive housing, a safe and healthy community fostering dignity, respect, and personal stability, and to advocate ending homelessness for women.
Forty percent of homeless youth are LGBT, and no organization offers a wider range of services for these young people than the Los Angeles LGBT Center. Members receive housing, showers, food, education, employment programs, and a variety of other essential services.
Los Angeles has the largest population of homeless veterans in the nation, with more than 4,000 homeless veterans living on our streets. Since 1992, New Directions for Veterans (NDVets) has provided comprehensive services to thousands of veterans in Los Angeles County.
